I WAS THERE ®

We came across this pair of plains zebras in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve in South Africa.  It was close to sunset and the glistening backlight created a warm and colorful feel to this beautiful pair hanging out together.  The plains zebra is known to be highly social and may form harems with a single stallion.  Groups may also come together to form herds. Rather than hiding out, these animals watch for predators and may bark or snort when they see a predator to warn the others.     NEILL
